The Honors Living-Learning Community (HLLC) application is open for new First-Year and Transfer Students enrolling at Rutgers University - Newark for Fall Enrollment. To be considered for admission into the HLLC, you are required to do the following:

• Submit a Rutgers University Online Application for Admissions to a Rutgers University - Newark School.

• Participate in a large group interview

• Participate in a personal interview (Invitation Only) 

• Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) by January 15th at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa 

  • If you are an NJ resident and ineligible for the FAFSA / Federal Aid – (Not a US Citizen or Eligible Noncitizen), please complete the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application at https://www.hesaa.org/Pages/NJAlternativeApplication.aspx

    • Who should complete this application?

      • Complete this application if you are not a United States citizen or eligible noncitizen and meet all of the following criteria;

        • Attended a New Jersey high school for at least three (3) years

        • Graduated from a New Jersey high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma in New Jersey

        • Are able to file an affidavit stating that you have filed an application to legalize your immigration status or will file an application as soon you are eligible to do so

To complete a supplemental application:

• Click on the "Apply" button on your right to proceed.  
• You will need to create a Survey Monkey account. To begin the process, click the next page's grey "Register" button (on the top right). 
• Once an account is created, you can access the HLLC application.

HLLC Deadlines:

First-Year Applicants: 

1. Must apply to Rutgers University – Newark by December 1st
2. Must complete the HLLC Supplemental Application by January 10th

Transfer Applicants: 

1. Must apply to Rutgers University – Newark by February 1st
2. Must complete the HLLC Supplemental Application by March 1st
